Not every Professional will be subject to every check. The checks required may depend on the type and risk level of the services offered. Where possible, ASAP Local will retain the verification result and relevant reference information rather than unnecessary copies of underlying documents.

5. Our lawful bases
We process personal information using one or more lawful bases under applicable UK data protection law.
Contract
Where processing is necessary to provide the services you have requested — for example, processing your address so a Professional can quote for a job.
Legal obligation
Where we are required to process information to comply with the law.
Legitimate interests
We may rely on legitimate interests for purposes including marketplace security, fraud prevention, account security, professional verification, service improvement, customer and Professional protection, network integrity, preventing abuse, and enforcing our Terms. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider whether the processing is necessary and balance our interests against your rights and freedoms, in line with ICO guidance.
Consent
Where consent is required by law, we will request it. You can withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
6. Verification and sensitive information
Certain verification processes may involve information that receives additional protection under UK data protection law, such as biometric information used for identification and criminal-offence information. We will only process such information where we have the appropriate lawful basis and any additional legal condition required, and we seek to minimise what we retain — where practical, retaining a verification result rather than the underlying identity document.
7. Automated systems and profiling
ASAP Local may use automated tools to help detect fraud, detect duplicate accounts, identify suspicious behaviour, match Customers with Professionals, prioritise security alerts, assist verification, and improve search results. Where applicable law provides additional rights regarding solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects, we will provide the safeguards required by law.
8. Information shared with Customers and Professionals
To operate the marketplace, certain information may be shared between users — for example, a Professional may receive a job description, relevant photographs, approximate/service location, preferred dates, budget information, and other details necessary to prepare a quote. A Professional profile may display their business/trading name, photograph/logo, services, service areas, reviews, ratings, portfolio, experience and verification badges.
We will not publicly display information such as identity documents, bank account numbers, payment-card details, or private verification results, unless disclosure is required or authorised by law.
9. Payment information
Payments may be processed through third-party payment providers. ASAP Local may receive transaction amount, payment status, transaction reference, refund information, payout information and payment method information. Where possible, complete payment-card details are handled by the payment provider rather than stored directly by ASAP Local.
10. Third-party service providers
We may use third-party providers for hosting, identity verification, payments, email, SMS, push notifications, analytics, fraud prevention, security, customer support, professional verification, document storage, business information, and professional registration checks. Those providers may process information on our behalf or, depending on their role, as independent controllers.
11. Location information
We may process location information to find Professionals near a Customer, calculate approximate travel distance, display service areas, improve matching, prevent fraud, and facilitate bookings. We aim to disclose only the location information necessary for the relevant transaction.
12. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality, authentication, security, preferences, analytics, performance, and marketing where permitted. Non-essential cookies will be managed in accordance with applicable law and our Cookie Policy.
13. Marketing
We may send marketing communications where legally permitted. You can unsubscribe at any time. You may still receive essential messages concerning your account, jobs, quotes, bookings, payments, security, verification and complaints.
14. Data retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary, depending on the type of information, why we collected it, legal requirements, fraud-prevention requirements, financial record requirements, dispute periods, and potential legal claims. When information is no longer required, we will delete, anonymise or securely dispose of it where appropriate.
15. International transfers
Some service providers may process personal information outside the UK. Where this occurs, we will use appropriate safeguards required under applicable UK data protection law.
16. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including access controls, encryption where appropriate, authentication, logging, monitoring, secure hosting, staff access restrictions, data minimisation, and backup and recovery controls. No online system can guarantee absolute security.
17. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to access your information, correct inaccurate information, request deletion, request restriction, object to processing, request data portability, withdraw consent, object to direct marketing, and request information about certain automated decisions.
Requests should be sent to privacy@asaplocal.pro. You can also complain to the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Terms & Conditions
1. About ASAP Local
ASAP Local is an online marketplace connecting Customers with independent Professionals. Unless expressly stated otherwise, ASAP Local does not itself provide the services advertised by Professionals — the service contract is normally between the Customer and the Professional. ASAP Local provides technology and marketplace services including job posting, search, matching, quotes, messaging, booking, payments, reviews and verification.
2. Acceptance
By using ASAP Local, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform. If you use ASAP Local on behalf of a business, you confirm that you have authority to do so.
3. Eligibility
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You must not create an account using false information, impersonate another person, create multiple accounts to evade restrictions, or use ASAP Local for unlawful activity.
4. Customers
Customers may post jobs, receive quotes, communicate with Professionals, book Professionals, pay for services, and review Professionals. Customers must provide accurate information about the work required.
5. Professionals
Professionals must comply with the separate ASAP Local Professional Terms, which form part of the agreement between ASAP Local and the Professional.
6. Jobs and quotes
Customers may post jobs describing their requirements, and Professionals may submit quotes. A quote should clearly identify price, VAT where applicable, materials, labour, call-out charges, additional charges, estimated timeframe and important assumptions. A Customer should not accept a quote until they understand what is included.
7. Service contract
When a Customer accepts a Professional’s quote or otherwise agrees to engage the Professional, a contract may arise directly between them, covering the work required, price, timing, materials, access, cancellation arrangements, guarantees and exclusions. ASAP Local is not normally a party to that contract.
8. ASAP Local’s role
ASAP Local does not guarantee that a Professional will accept a job, that a quote will be accurate, that a Professional will attend, or that work will be completed or meet expectations. However, nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.
9. Verification
ASAP Local may verify Professionals’ identity, business, address, insurance, qualifications, professional registrations and other risk factors. A verification badge indicates that the relevant check has been completed according to ASAP Local’s process — it is not a guarantee of workmanship, honesty, reliability or safety.
10. Payments
Where payments are made through ASAP Local, they may be processed by a third-party payment provider. Fees, refunds and payment arrangements will be displayed before the relevant transaction where applicable.
11. Fees
ASAP Local may charge Customers and/or Professionals booking fees, transaction fees, subscription fees, lead fees, commission and payment-related fees. Applicable fees will be communicated before they become payable.
12. Cancellations
Cancellation rights vary depending on the type of contract and circumstances. Where statutory consumer cancellation rights apply, they will not be excluded.
13. Reviews
Reviews must be genuine, honest and based on real interactions. Users must not write, buy, sell or manipulate reviews, review themselves, ask others to post fake reviews, offer undisclosed incentives for positive reviews, or threaten someone to obtain a review. ASAP Local may moderate or remove content that breaches the Community, Reviews & Safety Policy.
14. Prohibited activity
You must not use ASAP Local to commit fraud, harass or threaten users, upload malware, circumvent security, manipulate reviews, misrepresent qualifications, provide unlawful services, abuse payment systems, circumvent applicable platform fees, or scrape the platform without permission.
15. Suspension
We may suspend or restrict an account where reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate suspected fraud, enforce these Terms, protect the platform, address safety concerns or failed verification, or comply with law. Where appropriate, we will provide an explanation and review process.
16. Intellectual property
ASAP Local owns or licenses the platform, branding, software, design and other intellectual property. You may not copy, reproduce or commercially exploit these materials without permission.
17. User content
You retain ownership of content you upload. You grant ASAP Local a non-exclusive licence to host, display, reproduce and use that content as reasonably necessary to operate, market and improve the platform, and you must have the right to upload the content.
18. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded. Subject to that, ASAP Local is not responsible for losses caused solely by the acts or omissions of an independent Customer or Professional where ASAP Local itself has not caused the relevant loss, and consumer rights remain unaffected.
19. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Consumers retain any mandatory rights concerning applicable jurisdiction.
Professional / Provider Terms
These Terms apply to anyone offering services through ASAP Local.
1. Professional status
You are an independent business or professional, not an employee of ASAP Local. You are responsible for your own tax affairs, for complying with laws applicable to your services, and for determining whether you require licences, registrations, qualifications or insurance. Nothing in these Terms creates an employment relationship, partnership or joint venture.
2. Accurate business information
You must provide accurate information concerning your legal name, trading name, company information, address, contact details, services, experience, qualifications, insurance and professional registrations, and immediately update information that becomes inaccurate.
3. Identity verification
You may be required to complete identity verification, which may involve a third-party verification provider. ASAP Local may restrict access to certain features until verification is completed. You must not submit another person’s documents, alter documents, provide false information, or attempt to bypass verification.
4. Business verification
Where applicable, ASAP Local may verify your business through sources including Companies House, professional registers, insurance providers, documents you provide, and other legitimate sources. For limited companies, checks may include company status, incorporation date, registered address, directors, previous names, filing history, insolvency and disqualification information. A business registration check does not mean ASAP Local guarantees the business.
5. Qualifications
You must hold all qualifications, licences and registrations legally required for the services you offer, and notify ASAP Local if a qualification expires, registration is suspended or cancelled, a licence is lost, or you become legally prohibited from performing the service.
6. Insurance
You must maintain insurance appropriate to your services and legal obligations — which may include public liability, professional indemnity, employers’ liability, or other specialist cover. We may require evidence of insurance, and you must not continue offering services requiring insurance if your cover has expired.
7. Regulated and high-risk services
ASAP Local may apply enhanced requirements — such as professional registration, qualifications, enhanced verification, insurance, background checks or additional documentation — to higher-risk services such as gas work, electrical work, certain construction work, work involving children, certain security services, and specialist professional services.
8. Six-month trading history
For certain categories, ASAP Local may require evidence of at least six months’ trading history before allowing a Professional to offer particular services, where we consider the category to carry increased customer, financial or safety risk. ASAP Local may accept alternative evidence where appropriate.
9. Financial and integrity checks
Depending on your services and risk level, ASAP Local may conduct proportionate checks concerning insolvency, bankruptcy, CCJs, company financial information, director information, disqualifications, public records, adverse media, fraud indicators and duplicate records. A match does not automatically mean rejection — ASAP Local may request further information or conduct human review.
10. Duplicate accounts
You must not create additional accounts to evade suspension, reset ratings, avoid verification, obtain additional benefits, or circumvent platform fees.
11. Your work
You must arrive when agreed, perform work with reasonable care and skill, use appropriate materials, follow applicable regulations, maintain safe working practices, protect customer property, communicate delays, provide accurate pricing, and clean the work area where reasonably appropriate.
12. Pricing
You must not deliberately submit an artificially low quote and then introduce unreasonable additional charges. Additional work should be agreed with the Customer before it is carried out where reasonably possible, and you must disclose labour, materials, VAT, call-out, travel, emergency and other material charges.
13. Customer communication
You must communicate professionally, and must not threaten or harass customers, discriminate against them, pressure them into additional work, or misrepresent costs or qualifications.
14. Customer safety
You must not enter a property without permission, access areas unrelated to your work, take photographs of private areas without permission, use customer information for unrelated purposes, retain keys or access credentials without permission, or engage in threatening or inappropriate behaviour. Serious safety concerns may result in immediate suspension.
15. Off-platform circumvention
If you obtain a Customer through ASAP Local, you must not deliberately use information obtained through the platform to move the transaction off-platform in order to avoid ASAP Local’s applicable fees or marketplace protections. This does not prevent you from complying with legal rights or obligations.
16. Reviews
You must not create fake reviews, ask someone to create a fake review, review your own business, offer undisclosed rewards for positive reviews, threaten a Customer over a negative review, or require a Customer to remove a genuine negative review. You may respond professionally to reviews.
17. Portfolio material
You must own or have permission to use photographs and videos uploaded to your profile, and must not upload customer documents, payment information, private information, images of people without permission, or copyrighted material without permission.
18. Complaints
You must cooperate with reasonable investigations into customer complaints, which may include requests for photographs, quotes, invoices, messages, proof of work, insurance details and qualification evidence. Failure to cooperate may affect your account.
19. Account suspension
ASAP Local may suspend or restrict your account where reasonably necessary — for example due to fraud, false information, failed verification, expired insurance or qualifications, serious complaints, safety concerns, review manipulation, repeated cancellations, poor conduct, fee circumvention, or legal or regulatory concerns.
20. Appeals
Where reasonably practical, Professionals may request a review of a suspension or verification decision and may be asked to provide supporting evidence.
21. Fees
Professionals agree to pay applicable ASAP Local fees disclosed to them, which may include subscription, lead, commission, booking, payment or promotional fees. Fees may be changed with appropriate notice.
22. Taxes
You are responsible for your own income tax, corporation tax, VAT, National Insurance, payroll obligations and other applicable taxes. ASAP Local does not provide tax advice.
23. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for losses, claims, costs and liabilities arising from your unlawful conduct, breach of these Terms, negligent performance of services, false qualifications or insurance information, fraudulent conduct, or infringement of third-party rights — except to the extent the loss was caused by ASAP Local’s own breach or negligence.
24. Termination
You may close your Professional account at any time subject to outstanding bookings, payments, disputes and legal obligations. ASAP Local may terminate access where there is a material or repeated breach of these Terms.
Community, Reviews & Safety Policy
This policy exists to make ASAP Local a trustworthy marketplace.
1. Our principles
ASAP Local expects everyone to be honest, respectful, professional, accurate, and to respect privacy and keep users safe.
2. Fake reviews are prohibited
You must not create, purchase, sell or manufacture reviews, review your own business, ask friends or employees to post misleading reviews, use bots to generate reviews, manipulate ratings, or offer undisclosed incentives for positive reviews. ASAP Local may investigate suspicious review activity, in line with UK consumer-protection rules on fake reviews.
3. Genuine reviews only
Reviews should reflect genuine experiences. We may use booking history, account information, transaction information, technical information, manual review and automated fraud detection to identify potentially fraudulent activity.
4. Review moderation
We may remove, hide or restrict reviews that are fake, fraudulent, threatening, hateful, contain personal information, are unlawful, unrelated, manipulative, contain malicious links, or impersonate another person. We will not remove genuine negative reviews simply because they are negative.
5. Professional conduct
Professionals must treat Customers respectfully — harassment, threats, discrimination, intimidation, sexual harassment, unwanted contact, aggressive behaviour, property damage, theft, fraud and misrepresentation are all prohibited.
6. Customer conduct
Customers must also behave appropriately, and must not threaten or harass Professionals, demand free work, misrepresent a job, create fake complaints, manipulate reviews, or use the platform to facilitate unlawful activity.
7. Personal information
Users must not request or share unnecessary personal information, and must not publish bank details, payment-card details, passwords, identity documents, private medical information, or another person’s private contact information.
8. Property access
Professionals must only access areas necessary to perform the agreed service. Customers should provide reasonable and safe access. Neither party should give or request keys, access codes or other security credentials unnecessarily.
9. Safeguarding
Where services involve children, vulnerable adults, private homes, healthcare-related environments or personal care, additional safeguards may apply, and ASAP Local may require enhanced checks for certain services.
10. High-risk services
Certain categories — such as gas, electrical, structural work, certain construction work, child-related services, and specialist security work — may require additional verification. Professionals must not offer regulated services unless they have the appropriate qualifications, registration and permissions.
11. Safety incidents
If you believe there is an immediate danger, contact emergency services first. For non-emergency safety concerns, contact support@asaplocal.pro. ASAP Local may immediately restrict an account where reasonably necessary to protect users.
12. Fraud
Report suspected fake identities, fake businesses, fake documents, payment fraud, review manipulation, duplicate accounts or scam behaviour to support@asaplocal.pro. We may investigate and cooperate with appropriate authorities where legally required.
13. Content
Users must not upload content that is illegal, threatening, discriminatory, infringes copyright, contains malware or unnecessary personal information, or promotes criminal activity.
14. Enforcement
Depending on severity, ASAP Local may warn the user, remove content, restrict features, require additional verification, suspend or permanently terminate an account, withhold access to certain marketplace features where legally permitted, or report matters to relevant authorities.
15. Appeals
Where appropriate, users can appeal moderation or enforcement decisions through support@asaplocal.pro. We may request additional information before reconsidering a decision.
16. No guarantee of safety
ASAP Local takes reasonable steps to improve marketplace safety, including verification and moderation. However, no online marketplace can guarantee that every user is honest, qualified, safe or suitable. Users should exercise reasonable judgement before entering into an agreement.
Accessibility Statement
1. Our commitment
ASAP Local wants our website and mobile application to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who rely on assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, speech-recognition software, or keyboard-only navigation. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA where practicable, and we treat accessibility as an ongoing process rather than a one-off task.
2. What we do
- Use semantic HTML and landmark regions so assistive technology can navigate the page structure.
- Provide text alternatives for meaningful images.
- Support keyboard navigation for core flows such as search, job posting, messaging and booking.
- Aim for sufficient colour contrast between text and backgrounds, including in dark mode.
- Use responsive layouts that work with browser zoom and larger text sizes.
- Test key flows periodically as the product changes.
3. Known limitations
ASAP Local has not undergone a full independent accessibility audit. Some third-party components, embedded maps, and older parts of the platform may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA. We are working to identify and fix these issues over time.
4. Reporting an accessibility issue
If you encounter a barrier using ASAP Local, or need information in a different format, contact support@asaplocal.pro. Please tell us the page or feature affected, the device and assistive technology you were using, and what happened. We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports promptly and address confirmed issues within a reasonable timeframe.
5. Changes
We may update this Accessibility Statement as our platform and our accessibility work evolve.
